Most Dope Project | Mac Miller Inspired

Mac Miller | The Most Dope Inspired Collection

Mac Miller was the artist that solidified me making conceptual work to pay homage to my favorite artists. His evolution as an artist, even when he was simply Mr. Easy Mac with the "cheesy" raps, his music was a celebration. Ironically, despite his album Circles releasing in 2020, I'll never forget the moment I got the call in 2018 on my birthday... There was a giant hole in my heart.. As was with many fans. Quickly, I found peace and self confidence hidden behind the one album I'd missed before Swimming Even released. September 7th, 2018 was the first time I gave The Divine Feminine a full listen..

Like most fans, I eagerly awaited every mixtape and album release with baited breath, "Is this gonna be the album that I say... Nah, I don't know about this one.." That ever never came, and sadly, it never will. Mac's music forever taught me, beauty, joy, peace, and laughter is in everything... if you listen close enough. Being a photographer, this project never ends...

A cheesy letter on January 19, 2024 -

Dear Mac & The Most Dope Family

As an artist who always struggled to find her own voice in her art, but constantly spent years behind the scenes serenading everyone else, the anticipation for each and every release, each tour, and every moment of joy you spread to your many fans... Your lyrics, your sound, and the permanent feeling embedded in our hearts, [I always accredit that feeling of "GOOD AM", because words can't sum up the pride I felt for how far you'd come when that album released. You are the epitome of hip hop to me, and I truly hope that fans always come back and say "That truly is the most dope rapper of all time."

Thank you for every ounce of artistic greatness you gave us fans from Best Day Ever to The High Life, from Swimming (in)to Circles, all the way back to Blue Slide Park. Thank you for giving us Clarity and Angels. For not being afraid to Wear My Hat or Live Free. Thank you for showing us how to come back down to earth after we've gotten The Spins. Thank you for the Bird Call and for reminding us that it's OK!
